Wow! What an honor to be included in this year's New Mexico Filmmakers Showcase!
At least 200 hundred people showed up on Saturday, January 24 for the evening showing of the best of each category, and probably the same number but in a sort of cascading effect throughout the day on Sunday, January 25, which was an all day affair.
I had the honor of meeting and chatting with Rochell Bussey of the New Mexico State Film Office, a beautiful, brainy woman largely responsible for the Filmmakers Showcase and for upcoming touring Film Festival showings across New Mexico. (nmfilm.com)

I also had a nice chat with Dirk Norris of the New Mexico Film Foundation (http://www.nmfilmfoundation.org/), who works tirelessly to help indie New Mexico film makers.
These people are making history in New Mexico as they support indie film makers.
One of the great things about this film showcase is that it includes films of a wide variety of genres and levels of accomplishment by the various artists. This really helps all of us who labor in our studios without recognition unless something like this happens for us.
The films this year were just really amazingly well done and the variety was really a great overview of New Mexico people working in video.
So Thank You, Thank You to these great, innovative, forward thinkers!!
